Wasn’t the case about to be dismissed at some point, as well? I keep seeing story after story about the current trial in the Times, which seems to be extending its bizarre anti-Biden campaign on all possible fronts. Amazing how utterly divorced everything in the press is from the reality of the everyday person, whose voice comes through most clearly in the work of outstanding independent journalists like Zach.

Thanks Noel. Not sure about dismissal but it was very close to being pled out. That would’ve made the most sense

thank you! especially for the point that the details of his usage (every 20 minutes etc) are pretty typical with this addiction

"because his dad, like so many dads right now, refuses to retire."

Yeah, if we could force more dads into early retirement I think the world would be a better place.

Good and honest take on it Zach. WTF? I’m no fan of Hunter but sheesh he’s suffered his entire life cuz of his shithead father. I love the Mate reference who I read and respond to often. I wrote my own recovery memoir in my first 18 months of sobriety. There it has sat in my Google docs for 14 years—never will it see the light of day. I wrote it to get out of my head and heart and was done.

I’d be surprised if he stays sober through all this. I hope he does.

This is all part of the political lawfare infecting our country. Dems started it and now their own troubled son is going to take the hit for their folly.

I think it’s a stupid case. I’m sure lots of people lie when filling out government forms and nothing happens to them. With Trump being convicted the prosecution really has no choice. I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s found not guilty with a sympathetic jury in Delaware. Political prosecutions are very dangerous for us as a nation moving forward.

Bingo. This one. Also why in holy hell do we have a system that lets gun dealers prey on folks with substance use disorders. Gun dealers are making profits with no duty to verify anything someone attests to on those forms. If Hunter Biden had to get even one character witnesses in his life to sign off on him being able to responsibly handle a gun, I doubt he could’ve. We set people up to lie on those forms and never try to stop them before it’s too late.
